What to Expect

Getting Started

If you’re an adult looking for individual, couple or family therapy, you will complete our contact form so you can be matched with one of our therapists. 

If you’re looking for therapy for a child or adolescent, you will complete our contact form on their behalf. In most circumstances, both parents will need to consent to therapy.

Based on your needs and preferences, our team will match you with a therapist and set up your intake appointment.

Intake Appointment

During this session, you and your therapist will discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, your goals, and any questions or concerns you may have. We know how important it is to feel a connection and support when receiving therapy, so this first appointment is also an opportunity for you to get to know your therapist and determine if they are the right fit for you. 

Early Therapy

Your first 4 to 6 sessions are usually completed weekly to ensure clarity around your past experiences, develop connection, receive support and set goals.

Frequency of therapy may shift after your first 4 to 6 sessions. Weekly therapy is the most supported by research for positive change. Every other week and less frequent is considered maintenance therapy, where you have reached your goals but are working on ensuring those positive gains can be sustained.
