Let it all hang out!

Heads up! As a practice, we know it’s important to know all the details about our education and experience. However, we also want to honor our values of authenticity and being humans first. If you are looking for all the formal things, keep scrolling (it’s at the bottom).
This space is usually where therapists talk about what sort of conditions that they are especially interested in treating, or populations they are particularly effective with. I won't be doing that. Instead, I would like to offer reflections about what types of clients have found success on their journey to mental health and wellbeing with me: Sometimes I do well with nerdy, table top game players, but not everyone in that group has done well with me. I have been pleasantly surprised to find that women with boatloads of sexual trauma, birth trauma, and other gendered experiences consider me the right person for them. Other people who struggle with the pressures of conforming to social or familiar values and traditions have appreciated my "let them be mad you're not acting the way they want you to" attitude.
It is tempting to say that neurodivergent people work well with me, or to identify that I'm neurodivergent myself, but both of those statements are over simplifications. So instead I say this: I'm mentally ill. I have functional deficits and social deficits. I don't give many fucks about decorum. I won't let you let your own problems define you anymore than I let mine stop me from, you know, like, having a life.
My passion is helping people to nevermind the bollocks and just be their true selves. I love working with people who feel like they don't belong in the world. I believe that working on ourselves and our relationships reveals a deeper appreciation for who we are and how we connect to the world.
When our relationships or family structure changes, it inevitably impacts us, and I am uniquely passionate about helping people define their new roles and identities in these new roles. In addition to individuals and traditional couples, I welcome non-traditional couples and other relationships into my office (polyamorous, non-monogamous, etc). I am the Q in LGBTQIA+ and have had great success helping working with other folks who fall under those letters too.
I use a highly experiential approach that emphasizes humor and authenticity alongside compassion.
I consider boxer dogs superior life forms.
