Who We Are

Our Story

It all started when…

To tell this story properly is to reflect on the very nature of the word “mindful”. Mindfulness is the act of bringing attention to something - anything really - that we encounter.

Mindful Wellbeing came to be out of a desire to be a larger agent of change. It began with the practice owner, Mandy Wannarka, seeing clients for psychotherapy. As she leaned into that work, she wanted to create a community of clinicians who had similar views on the importance of incorporating mindfulness into their daily lives and be able to support even more clients on their journey to wellness.

From there Mindful Wellbeing has grown into a new space and begun to offer health offerings in line with a holistic view of one’s health and wellbeing. We sincerely hope you will stay tuned for what is in store as we continue to learn from one another, grow and transform into our full potential!

Our Mission and Vision

We strive to serve all who seek healing with evidence based practices, compassion and acceptance. We are driven to make mental health services available to all regardless of race, creed, gender, ability, sexual orientation, religious affiliation and age.

Our clinic’s vision is to serve the community by creating opportunities for people to find their authentic selves through a focus on their mental health and wellbeing. Our counselors are committed to ethical and collaborative interventions that view individuals as holistic beings who are deserving of care, support and healing.

We believe each person has intrinsic value and worth and that each individual has an innate ability to heal. We believe in honoring each person’s unique journey in this life and that by finding meaning in life’s successes and challenges one can be whole.

Our Values

Life Experiences Matter

We believe that you are the sum of all of your experiences thus far. Your story matters and we want to hear it. If there is pain and suffering, we want to help you heal and find meaning.

We believe that finding meaning even in the most difficult moments of our lives promotes healing and reduces suffering. We are committed to helping you find a way to tell your story and build connections to yourself and others through that journey.

Solidarity

We are committed to supporting humans of all walks of life. We accept that identifying and/or being white comes with an innate power and privilege that must be acknowledged to move forward into becoming anti-racist. While we may not always get it “perfect” we are committed to trying to leave the world a better place than we found it. We acknowledge that this takes meaningful action and not just performative allyship.

Mindful Wellbeing is proud to be part of The New One Percent Fund with the Minnesota Healing Justice Network, a local non-profit engaged in supporting black and brown wellness through mutual aid, holistic care and solidarity work - all led through an intergenerational community of healers and cultural workers.

Commitment to Being Anti-Racist

We believe that humans are wired for connection and that we are stronger together. The most impactful change in our lives comes from places of noticing how our capacity for interdependence can be strengthened.

We are committed to engaging with clients as agents of change in this process of developing more connections with those in their lives and consider it the biggest honor bestowed upon us as clinicians.
