Krissy is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker who received her Masters in Social Work degree from Portland State University. She has a passion for supporting those who are hoping to be parents, expecting to be parents or new to parenting as they confront the many mental health challenges that arise during this time of transition. Krissy’s own winding journey into parenthood fueled her passion for widening the net of support and connection during this time. Krissy wholeheartedly believes that people are resilient at their core and that therapy is a powerful tool to help us reconnect with our resiliency. Krissy would be honored to walk alongside you, wherever you are on your journey.

Specialties

Krissy completed the Level I training in the Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM) and is working towards completion of a certificate in perinatal mental health with Postpartum Support International. Krissy has completed numerous trainings on the use of mindfulness to enrich everyday life including Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Mindful Self-Compassion and more. Krissy will be training in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and plans to begin offering this service in Fall 2022.

Areas of Focus

Krissy’s clinical focus is on perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, with additional experience concerning premature birth and NICU experiences, birth trauma, feeding challenges and infertility. Krissy has almost a decade of medical and community-based social work practice experience supporting adults with experiences of trauma, addiction, interpersonal violence, chronic health conditions, end-of-life and more.

Treatment Approach

Krissy will work closely with you to develop a treatment plan that aligns with your unique goals for healing and growth. Her holistic approach draws from her training in mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative therapy, TRM and Motivational Interviewing. Krissy brings a trauma-informed and anti-oppressive lens to her therapeutic work and into her everyday life.
